Celá tato série Velmi krátkých úvodů, se kterou přišel Oxford, je unikátním zdrojem informací. Kniha o atheismu vychází z mnoha zdrojů a autor erudovaně posuzuje jednak argumenty pro atheismus, jednak vyvrací základní argumenty potvrzující víru v boha a inteligentní design, přičemž v tomto bodu rozvíjí argumenty, které ve své eseji Why I´m not a Christian prezentuje Bertrand Russell. Kniha je čtivě napsaná, nepříliš terminologicky náročná a skutečně přínosná.
