Please do read this book. It tells a story about a man moving to a new land and leaving his culture and family behind (because of some unknown circumstances). At first, the new world is strange, incomprehensible and scary but after a while, he is able to make some connections there, mostly with other immigrants. I love Shaun Tan's drawings. He narrates this story so well, without the need for words. It goes deep, raises questions and teaches empathy. I belive The Arrival is suitable for both children and adults - best if they read and admire it together.
