Arthur C. Clarke is an immensely influential character in the genre of science-fiction of the literary world and as such there is no surprise that 2k1 is such a beloved classic held close to heart by many readers.
Even though I personally found the first part of the story, about 40 pages or so, a bit boring, it really stepped up a notch after and delivered a mind-boggling, question-inducing story.
I especially loved the themes in this work; the dangerous side of technology, nuclear war, artificial intelligence and space exploration. Being a huge fan of these themes, you can definitely say this book was right up my alley.
